LOCATION: Remote - North America Eastern Timezone or Edinburgh / UK / Europe preferred (Work from home, in compatible timezone)
DURATION: Permanent.
HOURS: Full-time.
ASENSEI are looking for skilled software engineers to work on our software development kit (SDK), solution blueprints developed upon our SDK, and sample applications to help our customers incorporate the SDK more quickly.
Companies of all sizes use ASENSEI software to motion-capture their customers and make sense of their movement, so that they can offer personalized health and fitness experiences that onboard, engage and retain customers.
We offer the most widely deployed solution for 3D Computer Vision and Connected Apparel, running on high-powered phones or low-powered consumer electronics, using single or multiple cameras to capture individuals at home or in a room full of participants.
RESPONSIBLITIES:
As an early-stage employee in our venture-backed company, you'll work directly with the Chief Technology Officer and Chief Product officer, alongside the solutions engineering team to develop new features and capabilities for asensei.ai.
asensei.ai is a developer platform and SDK that allows 3rd party Connected Health and Fitness products to add motion capture, movement recognition and coaching intelligence to their products.
You will work within a product team that spans machine learning and computer vision, hardware, firmware, software and consumer-facing UX.
You will have the opportunity to play a key role in the development of:
Our core SDK - adding new features and capabilities to our core product
Solution blueprints - solution accelerators for common use-cases in health and fitness coaching powered by our SDK.
Sample applications - developers prefer working code alongside documentation, that shows them best-practice implementations of our SDK.
Customer solutions - working alongside our strategic customers, helping them bring their first products to market with our SDK.
This role is for a versatile Android developer. You’ll have a deep understanding of implementing in Android systems using Kotlin or Java, you may be familiar with Javascript or Typescript and you’ll ideally have an interest in Computer Vision and Machine Learning. Most importantly you’ll be able to contribute independently and as part of a team across a range of technologies, with an emphasis on Android implementation.
REQUIREMENTS:
Passion for building software that will scale to a growing user base.
Strong understanding of software engineering principles and fundamentals.
Ability to collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team specialized in machine learning, computer vision, hardware, firmware, and software.
Lead the integration of the ASENSEI SDK into the Android platform.
Utilize Android's Camera APIs, including the Camera2 API, for specialized use-cases such as image analysis and real-time modifications.
Implement image and video rendering using OpenGL ES.
Apply advanced image transformations, color space conversions.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of concurrency and multi-threading in the Android environment.
Around 3-5 years of experience in the following areas:
delivering Android mobile software in Kotlin or Java.
working in an environment with tools including NPM, Git and GitHub
Great team player - able to communicate clearly, written and verbal, and a desire to help others and identify and solve problems across the business.
Curiosity - to learn new skills and methods and to understand the problems that customers are facing.
BONUS POINTS FOR:
working with web technologies including TypeScript, Javascript, HTML and CSS.
knowledge of machine learning, computer vision
experience working with Angular, Ionic and delivering cross-platform apps with Capacitor
Test Driven Development: Experience developing software in a Test-driven Development environment, in a continuous integration environment such as Travis CI.
Modern Cloud Development: AWS, Pulumi
Backend: Experience with Firebase, MongoDB
Frontend: working in a Visual Studio Code environment
Web Application Frameworks: Node.js and Express
Native API integration: React Native, creating Capacitor plugins.
Are an athlete or coach, or someone who is otherwise passionate about sport and coaching.
