About Us
1mind is a platform that deploys multimodal Superhumans for revenue teams. These Superhumans combine a face, a voice, and a GTM brain — equipped with deep technical and product knowledge. They can lead unlimited, simultaneous conversations 24/7, meeting buyers when they’re most active and engaged. Superhumans qualify leads, book meetings, deliver pitches, give interactive demos, handle objections, uncover pain points, build value models, provide support, and onboard customers. They live across websites, inside your product, can join live calls as active participants, and work alongside your team in deal rooms. 1mind Superhumans integrate seamlessly into existing workflows, scale instantly, and drive measurable impact — growing revenue, reducing headcount, accelerating pipeline to closed-won, and creating a more delightful buyer experience.
Job Description
We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help build and scale the systems driving 1mind’s Superhuman platform. You’ll architect and implement backend services and pipelines geared for low‑latency, high‑throughput AI‑agent applications, handling context, memory/embedding lifecycles, tool‑call orchestration, and retrieval workflows. While the role is backend‑focused, engineers who can contribute across the stack (especially fullstack with backend emphasis) will thrive.
Key Responsbilities
Architect, implement, and optimize backend systems supporting AI agent interactions: ingestion, indexing, retrieval, embedding/memory management, tool‑call orchestration, context tracking, and ranking.
Build scalable pipelines and services to support real‑time, multimodal interactions (text, audio, structured data) with tight latency and throughput constraints.
Design APIs, data models, caching and indexing layers, retrieval/feedback loops, context‑management frameworks, and tool‑call workflows.
Integrate retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), hybrid search/ranking, vector/embedding lifecycle management, and memory systems into production services.
Define and monitor metrics for latency (p95/p99), throughput, freshness, memory/context state size, retrieval relevance, tool‑call success, and system health.
Collaborate deeply with ML/IR teams, product, and frontend teams to deliver end‑to‑end capabilities, shaping how Superhumans reason and act.
-
Mentor engineers, lead design/code reviews, set engineering best practices, and influence technical vision and architecture.
Qualifications
Proven experience delivering backend or fullstack systems (backend‑heavy focus) in a fast‑paced environment; ability to take full ownership of major subsystems.
Strong programming fundamentals and system‑design skills: distributed systems, concurrency, data‑modeling, caching/indexing, low‑latency optimisation.
Demonstrated experience or interest in AI agent applications: retrieval systems, embeddings/vector search, memory/context management, tool‑calls, orchestration.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, containerisation/container orchestration, monitoring/observability, service metrics and SLOs.
Plus: Experience with TypeScript (or similar modern language), fullstack contributions, or frontend/backend coupling.
-
Plus: Experience with vector databases or hybrid search infrastructures, memory/context lifecycles in real‑time systems.
Why Join Us?
Build the foundation of multimodal Superhumans driving how AI understands, retrieves and reasons over knowledge in real business workflows.
Be part of a category‑defining product at the intersection of AI, systems, and GTM.
Small, high‑ownership, fast‑moving team with global footprint (San Francisco & Bengaluru).
-
Real impact from day one — shape how AI and humans collaborate at scale.
