What You’ll Do.
THE ROLE: SENIOR MANAGER S&OP
EMJ is looking for a passionate and driven Senior Manager of S&OP. The Senior Manager of S&OP leads the strategic planning and execution of the Sales and Operations Planning process to align demand, supply, and financial plans. This role ensures the organization achieves its financial, operational, and customer service objectives by fostering collaboration across multiple functions, including sales, marketing, finance, operations, and supply chain.
This position reports directly to the Director of Supply Chain. Opportunities for new experiences to demonstrate leadership and growth are limitless.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- S&OP Leadership: Lead and manage the end-to-end S&OP process, ensuring cross-functional alignment between demand and supply planning. Drive a disciplined monthly S&OP cycle to achieve business goals and resolve key issues impacting forecast accuracy, inventory levels, and customer service.
- Demand and Supply Planning: Collaborate with sales and marketing to develop accurate demand forecasts. Work closely with supply chain and operations teams to align supply plans with demand forecasts. Identify and resolve demand-supply imbalances, mitigating risks and leveraging opportunities.
- Data Analytics and Reporting: Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the S&OP process. Provide insights and recommendations to improve forecast accuracy, inventory management, and service levels. Prepare and present reports to executive leadership highlighting S&OP performance and strategic initiatives.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with finance to align the S&OP process with the organization’s financial plans and budgeting cycles. Engage stakeholders across sales, marketing, and operations to ensure alignment and accountability for the S&OP outcomes. Lead scenario planning and sensitivity analyses to support strategic decision-making.
THE CANDIDATE
Candidates must be highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent communication skills and experience working cross-functionally. While this candidate is driven and hits key milestones, also has a remarkable ability to remain calm and flexible in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, high growth collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will be an intelligent team player – someone approachable with a positive, innovative and professional attitude who works smarter, not harder, and takes on a “sleeves-rolled-up” and a “can-do” attitude when faced with challenges. A true ambassador for EMJ, both internally and externally.
CAPABILITIES + SKILLS REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in supply chain, demand planning, or operations management, with at least 3 years in an S&OP leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of S&OP processes, supply chain principles, and demand planning tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in advanced planning tools and systems (e.g., SAP IBP, John Galt, or equivalent).
- Experience in [specific industry, e.g., consumer goods, manufacturing, etc.].
LOCATION: Mill Valley, CA (Hybrid: Mon/Tues/Thurs in Office, Wed/Fri Remote)
