Position Title: Claims Specialist
Department: Fleet
Reports to: Director of Fleet Safety and Procurement
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Full-time, Benefited
Position Summary: The primary function of the Claims Specialists is to support the Safety and Claims Director and other company staff personnel in processing and maintaining files and data bases on claims for: workers compensation, vehicular, equipment, and property damage from both internal and third party claimants. The Specialist communicates with insurance claims representatives, claimants, witnesses, legal representatives, contract or governing agencies. Other responsibilities include maintaining document files and data bases for associated safety training, inspection, compliance, and the employee safety incentive plan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
General:
- Communicate and provide customer service: communicate effectively and courteously with all levels of company personnel, customers, and external stakeholders in person, in writing, and over the
- Provide administrative support to the Safety and or Claims
- Work effectively in both an independent and team
- On rare occasions travel to jobsites or other divisional worksites as
Claims:
- Intake, process, adjust, and track internal and external claims, including denials, settlements, tenders, litigation, representation of Small Claims Court Actions, and 3rd party recoveries.
- Investigate and process all General Liability, Auto and Property Claims
- Assist in developing policies and procedures for controlling claims related
- Perform internal annual analysis of loss
Qualifications:
Associates degree preferred. Minimum two years relevant experience in a claims processing role. Prefer experience in safety within the construction industry. Paralegal/insurance background with claims management a plus.
Travel: Some travel required to visit jobsites or other worksites, Valid CA drivers license and clean driving record required
Pay Scale:
$22-$28/hour DOE
