Project Manager

We’re looking for a growth-oriented, driven and empathetic Project Manager to join our team. This isn’t project management in the traditional sense. It’s part educator, part advocate, part guide — someone who can help clients navigate the complexities of transforming a vision into something buildable, beautiful and lasting. As the single point of contact from onboarding through construction, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the client experience and driving project success. You’ll be a translator of ideas, a remover of friction, and, at times, a source of calm in the exciting (and sometimes overwhelming) process of bringing a new yard to life.
What you'll do:
- Be the guide. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, helping them move confidently from initial design kickoff through to construction. You’ll be their go-to resource, trusted partner, and advocate throughout the journey.
- Own the experience. From answering early questions to coordinating final site walks, you’ll proactively manage all communication ensuring clients, contractors, and internal teams are aligned at every step.
- Turn complexity into clarity. You’ll help homeowners understand design concepts, construction timelines and contractor options in plain, human language that builds trust and momentum.
- Inspire action. Whether it’s gathering design feedback or encouraging clients to meet with a contractor, you’ll be gently but purposefully moving clients toward key milestones, and toward a finished yard they love.
- Manage your design pipeline. You’ll oversee the flow of projects from intake to delivery—QA’ing deliverables, ensuring timelines are met, and maintaining high standards for quality and brand alignment.
- Collaborate with a core team of designers. You’ll work closely with your assigned designers to deliver exceptional, on-brand designs on time. You’ll celebrate wins, provide feedback, and elevate the team through shared accountability and coaching.
- Own your market. You’ll be responsible for understanding the contractor landscape in your territory identifying skill gaps, prospecting and vetting new Pros, and ensuring there’s enough market coverage and supply to meet client demand and close projects.
- Partner. You’ll collaborate across design, operations and sales to ensure each project is progressing smoothly, quickly and with the level of care that defines the Yardzen experience.
What success looks like:
- First and foremost, high client satisfaction. We’re in the client service business and aim to delight.
- Thoughtful communication and quick resolution of concerns. Design is most successful with effective communication.
- Fast project throughput and minimized delays. Our clients are on timelines and time is money.
- Delightful designs and beautiful builds. Design is in service of a built space and you’ll get each client through the process.
- A calm, confident experience for every client you support. Each project is unique and comes with its own challenges. You’ll be the rock.
What you bring:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with tools like Zendesk, Podium and CRM systems.
- Experience in client service, project coordination, or a related role.
- Comfort working in fast-moving, dynamic environments.
- An empathetic approach and talent for guiding and influencing clients.
- A deep belief in the power of great design - and a desire to help others realize it.A background in landscape design, architecture or residential construction is a strong plus.
- Ability to work during core business hours, ensuring timely communication and support for clients and internal teams.
What we offer:
- Remote work, always: We're a remote-first company
- Full coverage for you: 100% paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Competitive compensation: Salary that matches your skills and experience
- Support for growing families: 12 weeks of fully paid parental leave
- Monthly perks: Wellness, cell phone, and internet stipends to keep you connected and cared for
